Got my Vexilar back this past weekend so I decided to do some jigging at Eagle Lake after doing tip up fishing the past couple times to see if I could find some perch that I saw people catching on Lake Link.
Went to the area that I’ve been going to the past couple of times around the middle of the lake in about 8 FOW. I didn’t drill many holes because there was about 18 inches of ice and was getting pretty tired with the hand auger. I really didn’t move much and just sat in my ice shack over one of the holes I drilled which was producing fish.
Saw a bunch of marks on my Vexilar all morning and landed a lot of perch which was nice for a change. Only caught a handful of keepers around the 9 inch mark, but released all the fish I caught.
Didn’t think I was actually going to find any perch, but had a lot of action from when I got there until I packed up. Not sure if it was the time of year that helped, the spot I was in, but will hopefully try this spot again soon.
